Aerobic Class Scheduling – What’s the Deal? Some People Work!?
Ok, I’m on my 2nd fitness club this year. My last one had weird hours (I thought) for aerobics classes. One cycle class at 5:45am (yeah, right) then the next cardio class starts at 8:30am. The latest evening classes begin at 5:45pm.
We just moved and I started a new club and they have a similar schedule. So how do working people get to do cardio classes? They have all kinds of classes scheduled between 8:30 and 5pm, but hardly anything outside of that. I can *sometimes* make the 5:45pm if traffic is light and the class is PACKED. I can’t imagine there not being enough interest to have an additional class at 6 or 6:30pm. I would even take a nice 7am class before work.
So what’s the deal with the clubs? Why don’t they schedule more convenient classes for those of us who actually work from 8am-5pm? It’s been the same in two cities in two different chains of clubs. Ugh.
Simple solution: Work from home. Then you can make time for your aerobics class whenever you want!
I know it isn’t necessarily that easy, especially depending on your line of work, but I do know a number of professionals who do or have negotiated either the ability to telecommute with an employer, or who provide independent contractor services through other institutions. I am currently in the process of interviewing for several professional jobs that are totally online. Working from home does not have to mean owning your own business (I’ve done that, too); there are many legitimate opportunities available and many pay well.
OK. I’m sure that’s not the solution you were looking for, but I should earn creativity points! BTW, I was oh so tempted to vote for your supercalifragilistic… answer as the best, (definite creativity points) but one must concede that the winning response was well-deserved.
