Thinking about the Olympics are you? What is an elite athlete, such as Lindsey Anderson, a member of the U.S. Olympic team in 2008, do?
In part 2 of Chronicles Lindsey, learn what takes to be an elite athlete. Try to compare your training with his.
Q. So, Lindsey, what is your program training?
During my weeks of regular training, I'm running somewhere around 80-85 miles per week. I do two or three hard workouts each week, usually Tuesday, Thursday and sometimes Saturday.
These workouts are difficult when I do my interval training, tempo runs, will power, with intervals of hedges, etc.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday I'll be racing background of 60 minutes and then I'll do speed drills, stairs, and progress. Saturdays are my days long term when I go for 90 minutes. Depending on the week I may or may not do a tempo run in the middle of it (hence the third hard workout would).
In addition to my training and interval distance races, I also do 30 minutes in the morning works five days a week. So in terms of sports, I'm five two-days each week.
I did run once on Saturday, when I have my long runs. I take Sunday completely off. (My day off! I really looking forward to this day!)
I also lift weights twice a week and make a drive from different / every day routine. As for recovery, I get ice bath (water is around 42-50 °) 4-5 times per week. They are difficult to obtain in a first time, but really help with recovery.
And I see a massage therapist specific sport, usually once a week to help keep my body without injury and it also helps a ton to recovery. With all this, I usually average about four hours per day to do all that!
Q. Who are your favorite authors. How it works?
I am sponsored by Nike. I have a shoe contract with them, which means that the equipment they give me all my running: shoes, clothes, watches, sunglasses, etc. I as a budget travel and I'm on a salary from which I am paid quarterly. Nothing like Tiger Woods or anything, but it undoubtedly contributes!
Q. In your first policy on China, what are some of the interesting things you learned about the culture and not do and?
Basically, I remember they are very respectful of older people and you do not say their name when they arise. call them by name family, not their first, unless you're really good friends. When your order in a restaurant it is ok to point to someone else Flat to let them know that you want. I imagine that many Chinese people order this way.
Q. All tour adventures in China?
I really want to see the Great Wall! I do not know how I'll be able to see before my race (s), but I'm having a few days after to see certain things. I also would like to go to some other sporting events if possible!
Q. Any heads-up on required Opening Ceremony of the United States?
They have not shown us anything. Our uniforms are Dark Blue for the most part except letters.
Q. Remember these berets SLC Olympics?
I actually forgot those! I just hope that we will not have to wear them!
